Geniune & Serious Health Question about female masturbation?

I have not had a sexual partner for 4 years. I have not had regular sex for 8 years. Although obviously not ideal, I thought I had got used to being single and not being sexually active. Recently, I have become extremely sexually aroused and masturbate excessively (4 or 5 times a day). It is causing me difficulty because it is interferring with my ability to concentrate and work.
I am obsessively thinking about sex and becoming turned on.

Is this just a phase and will it pass? If not, what can I do to manage this so it doesn't interfere with my life? Is it a medical problem? Is it worth seeing my doctor for treatment or is that just ridiculous?

Is this nothing more than a natural reaction to not having had sex for such a long time?

While reading Friday’s Jakarta Post, a visiting friend remarked we were “a funny” country. Perhaps he was trying to use a milder term for something else. His remark came after reading an item concerning Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) chairperson Tifatul Sembiring’s views on Bank of Indonesia’s Governor, Boediono, as the running mate of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for his next term in the office as president.

The second piece of news was about another equally “funny” article about the requirement for a female presidential candidate to avoid having sex for ten days.

Tifatul Sembiring is not very comfortable with Governor Boediono’s faith and says, as quoted by this paper, “Boediono has never been seen speaking to Muslim masses.”

So, although he regularly attends Friday prayers in the mosque, he is still considered that not sufficiently Muslim”.

What is more “funny” is that according to Sembiring’s statement, his constituents see Boediono as a nationalist, which is not a proper representation of Islam.

The question is; what then is the proper representation of Islam? Another more important question is; can Muslims be not nationalists at the same time?

What equally bothers me is whether the Christians, or Hindus, or Buddhists have any chance to be a vice president of this country. Where is this country leading to?

The former president of Prosperous Justice Party, Hidayat Nurwahid, who now chairs the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), made a statement awhile ago that he had received several SMSs saying that he was against national unity (NKRI) and the national ideology based on the principle of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).

Hidayat denied all these allegations. It is now high time that he makes it clear what is his

understanding of Unity in Diversity in view of his party’s high commands statement.

Hidayat also refused to be associated with Saudi wahabis, who according to him were against political parties. What about the ideology of wahabis, which places uniformity above Unity in Diversity?

Of much interest is also the reason the Depok regent decided to close down a church, and to deny them a building permit. Interestingly, this regent belongs to Hidayat’s party. It would be interesting to hear Hidayat to speak on this subject.

There was another piece of news related to the sexual activities of female presidential candidates; perhaps the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) chairman, Fachmi Idris, has conducted extensive research on this subject. What he forgot to disclose was a more understandable reason behind this.

To quote the Post on this subject, “the requirement for a female candidate to avoid having sex is

to prevent the outcome of her medical check up from showing ‘biased’ results.”

What is not mentioned is whether the so-called “biased” results are only related to females alone, or also to the males?

The latest findings in the field of medicine have indicated that as women have their menstruation, men also experience a similar cycle with different symptoms. As women have menopause, men too have andropause.

Indeed, women can have xx chromosomes, men cannot have yy. Men inherit the xx chromosomes from their mothers. We are not discussing the issue of the superiority of men over women or vice versa. But let us talk of some sensibilities.

In this region of the world, we have never tabooed sex. We have made intensive studies about sexual energies. The ruins of our campuses at Sukuh and Cetoh at Central Java are proof of this.

Sexual energy when not channeled for higher purposes to make one more creative and innovative, will only try to find its release through intercourse and masturbation. By the way, the passion to hold on to a position or to fight for a position at any cost – are also prompted by unchannelled or rather mischannelled sexual energy.

Sexual frustration is a topic discussed in one form or another everywhere from street corners to high school gym classes, local bars to office cubicles and it’s not always in the form of sex talk. Sometimes it takes on the actions of howling men towards a beautiful women, to heated arguments and brawls between one or more frustrated men. Do our sexual desires drive society as a whole? Do men seek out world wide fame or enormous amounts of money just to in essence, get laid, or procreate? Can anyone out there actually deduce the connection logically and pinpoint exactly the correlation between procreation, the sex drive and the evolution of our modern society? I’m not going to analyze large statistics or online surveys trying to figure out the connection. I’m going to look from a different perspective. My own unique experience from when I myself was down the road of despair in sexual matters.

I was a frustrated young man at one point. My drives, aspirations, goals, and everyday living revolved around “getting into a woman’s pants”. I remember one day having tons of work to do but waking up like many men do, with a hard on. I was feeling sexual but had no means at the time to share those feelings with another person. So what does a guy do in that situation? Yes. You guessed it, masturbate. You look for media types of sexual arousal and so to speak, go to town. Except that particular day I was working at home and the feelings in my pants stopped me from getting any real work done. I decided to search for a little pornographic stimuli, delayed as long as I could, until finally I couldn’t hold out any longer. If I didn’t have an orgasm soon I would not get anything done that day. So I Did. Then a giant light bulb went off in my head just after the “baby batter release” as it was so eloquently called in the film, “Something about Mary”.

I remember clearly thinking. Was that all? All day I spent frustrated and my mind was so cluttered with wanting sex that I got nothing done. All for a three minute release which was very disappointing because there was no one there to share it with me. I also remember thinking that if any one man, to a million men a day, had those same feelings which is very likely, then our society at some level has functioned that way. Sexual arousal and then a release driving men to either curl up inside their own frustrated minds and removing themselves from those around them, to trying to take over the world with their exasperated attempts to gain wealth and/or fame in hopes of unlimited sex and power.

So what come first? Is it the drive to procreate that manages our sexual habits, or is it our sexual arousal or awareness that keeps our eye on the prize. The prize of a rewarding family and a guarantee to have our genes be passed on. A gene can not arbitrarily function on its own. It uses our bodies to convey itself and it does so in the best known manner. Stronger and smarter creatures move on, others die away unable to create another version of itself. A man usually experiences an orgasm so fleetingly; unlike a woman who can experience the same orgasm for longer periods of time. And she can experience it again and again until she tires. Similiar to how a woman is generally built to nurture and how she must bear the children. Its a long term investment. With men it’s different. it seems our initial bodily response would be to build our self back up, produce more sperm, and again seek out the next available willing partner.

I am not a firm believer that any one sex drives our species. I feel without one, the other will not survive. It’s a mutual agreement where both is needed and by doing so guarantees similar yet better copies. Let’s assume our society had been built by man and his need to release himself from the sexual frustration our genes have built inside us. Do we then become a society of quick schemes, easy way outs, rather than the long term investment a woman’s run society would possess. The female more concerned about the future and how to make sure her offspring has a lasting survival and in turn, keep the process moving along. But since I have already stated I believe our society works on both levels we have the instant gratification on one end, and the long term investment on the other. Metaphorically speaking men are the advertisement or quick lure, and women hold the content or the actual material listed in the table of contents of life. After all a great written book means nothing if there is only one person reading it, so advertising is usually good practice.

The sexual frustration of the common man serves a person then. It’s one piece of the greater puzzle in which we all share our won little spot on the map. One in which we all contribute to in our own unique manner but are built from the same core materials. If the same feelings of “I need to release my sperm” drives the common man to achieve more than his fellow man, even if it’s on his own terms such as an inward journey it does have a purpose. How that same man chooses to deal with his issues of frustration will in the end determine what type of man he will be and how his offspring or those around him will be affected. For example, a nerdy boy in school whose sexual frustration might propel him into the realm of great wealth may not ever offer as much towards our societies real growth as the curious inward driven man wishing to better himself. Using the sheer energy associated with not having a partner to better himself selfishly and in turn actually offering more to the growth of society.

The genes in our bodies wishing to survive can’t directly control how we use this energy. It only controls how much energy or the actual root of those wants or needs. Yet those same genes gives us a great tool for deciding how we use that energy, or anger, that tool is our brains. And when our brains are used in a stable productive manner it gives us the ability to choose our actions. If you are a slightly frustrated man with the physical and mental ability to have great sex with a partner but are left with feelings of, “that its?” because you have no one to share your experience with, how you act on those urges can in fact affect who you become. When we share the moment of orgasm with a lover who desires the same, with a life long partner or one night, I can tell you that those same feelings are much different that what I felt after masturbating by myself. A certain connection was made so I was able to experience a longer lasting emotionally stability or immediate content feelings of lying next to someone you care deeply for. After that a new drive would envelope my body, such as protection and nurturing.

I’ve already taken on the belief in this article that sexual frustration can drive our society for better or for worse, but in which manner does the frustrated man’s urges drive us? Is it the drive to procreate? Is it the drive to release our sperm and gain that instant gratification? Or is that same drive actually man’s search for that longer lasting “female orgasm” which is achieved when you are with a partner and don’t just roll over and go to sleep? Little girls, preteens, teens, young women, and old women seem to normally have a more difficult time in their lives than males have. This isn’t because of endurance or physical appearance, but because of the expectations of our society. Females (more than males) must be taught from age three what is right and what is wrong; what is acceptable and what is not; good vs. bad; and balance this knowledge until death.

From an early age, girls must be taught that they are never obligated to conform to expectations of society if these expectations degrade or endanger them in any way.

Too many girls misuse their beauty as payment for present fun, leisure, excitement and wealth; as a means of avoiding obligations and work responsibilities. This is self-degrading…degrading self.

One can fool some people all of the time and all people some of the time, but never all the people all the time. Avoid being a fool. Don’t fool yourself. Hard work never hurt anyone. Avoiding work is a receipt for present failure and future misery.

This article certainly does not apply to all females. Many have grasped the opportunity to be equal in every means to males, but most have not. Why?

It is evident from the earliest writings 4000 years ago, that females have never been considered equal to males. Of course this is the male consensuses or opinion.

Like no other time in history females have the opportunity to change this attitude, but this requires a complete revamp of their present mental outlook; from childhood. Personal opinions or feelings mean everything.

Today parents too often fail to prepare their children, especially girls, to be aware of the raw facts of daily life, to be aware of the many dangers, to protect their whole self, to insist on their rights.

Anyone can easily see this in America. Today in the year 2009; effective sex education does not exist in America. America leads all industrial nations of the world with the highest number of annual unwanted teen pregnancies. Hypocritical religious teaching is the blame for this disgraceful tragedy.

I feel that the very basic and elementary foundation to most problems females of every age have is a direct or indirect result of ineffective sex education. Effective sex education is rudimentary and simple for children of any age to understand.

Studies prove that many social and mental problems that teens and women have is a result of sex abuse by a parent. We must teach and encourage every child from age three that there are things no parent is allowed to do. Children must feel comfortable with telling mom that dad is doing things that they have been taught is wrong. Seldom will a child want to make dad mad or get him into trouble if she or he has not be taught that it is alright to tell on dad. Few dads will do anything wrong if they feel the child will tell on him. The key is effective sex education from age three.

Hypocritical religious teachings condemn masturbation. This silly teaching encourages multiple social, mental, and physical problems for children, especially girls, of every age.

The desire for sexual satisfaction is the second strongest desire all humans have; only satisfaction of hunger is stronger. This is our Creator’s Plan. He instilled this desire in our genes, our DNA. We are taught that God is perfect, so no one can argue with this characteristic of heredity.

All humans want sexual satisfaction; even children. Sexual intercourse is stupid sex for children. Masturbation is sex and it is the logical alternative to sexual intercourse. It is clean and safe. It is the logical and smart way for all children to achieve sexual satisfaction.

All children should be taught that masturbation is OK. No child should ever be scorned by a parent for masturbating. Encouraging masturbation is part of effective sex education.

Children should be discouraged from having sexual intercourse before adulthood, but girls should be encouraged to always carry condoms with them on a date just in case they do decide to engage in sexual intercourse. Effective education will include teaching children how to correctly place a condom on the male penis. This is especially important for girls of all ages. It’s their body that can be damaged with disease or pregnancy.

Education never harmed anyone. Ignorance, not education, causes problems for children, especially girls.

Children, especially girls, need education and assistance in dealing with friendships and relationships. It is a lucky child that feels comfortable talking with parents on these and all issues that they will encounter in daily life.

Self respect is paramount. Parents have a basic responsibility to teach their children about life in general. This includes the many problems that will likely encounter with their friends and acquaintances. It is so important that every child learn from parents to demand respect at all time for all people. A child that is respectable to others and demands respect in return will more likely find a safer environment and more refined friends.

Birds of a feather flock together. Children, especially girls, must set their standards and always demand that others always respect these standards. There are many fish in the sea. Teach children to be choosey with friends. Teach children to have self-confidence. If a friend, girl or boy, does not meet the desired standards…go fishing! If you don’t smoke and don’t like smoke; don’t hang out with the crowd that smokes.

A girl can be beautiful and gifted with ability, but without ambition to be healthy, independent, and free; what benefit is beauty and ability.

Girls and boys can sit and dream of accomplishments, but without commonsense, self worth, and the drive to reach goals; they will likely attain only old age without success.

Girls can so easily ruin their potentially beautiful life in a moment of stupidity. Too often this is the fault of their parent’s lack of intelligence. Parents must realize that it is their responsibility to prepare every child to avoid getting hurt in the ferocious and violent adult world. Far too many, if not most parents, are total failures at teaching their children effective sex education. It is so sad to see a teen pushing her own baby in a buggy, when she could be having teen fun with friends.

It isn’t easy to be a good effective parent, but this is the very basic responsibility of every parent. Every woman should avoid pregnancy if they aren’t willing to what is necessary to be a good parent. Girl children must have this instilled in their minds from age three. There is absolutely no excuse for unwanted and unplanned pregnancies. Avoiding pregnancy is 99% the female’s responsibility. It is her body! Children from age three must be taught this!
